About The Autism Lifespan WeCAN Learning Congress 2010
560 delegates witnessed the official launch of the Autism Lifespan WeCAN Learning Congress 2010 by Guest of Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports on 1 June 2010. The opening of the Congress was attended by more than 60 invited guests who have in one way or another supported the autism community in Singapore.
The 3-day Congress brought together more than 20 local and overseas autism experts in the areas of education, early intervention, employment, residential and medical management. Delegates came from more than 12 countries.
The Congress was held at the Pathlight School, Singapore’s first autism school. Pathlight was transformed into a vibrant learning lab with an unparalleled mix of international experts, live autism application demonstrations, country updates and interactive discussion panels.
From the overwhelmingly positive feedback, it is apparent that professionals, educators and carers of individuals with autism who participated in this Congress were enriched and empowered with knowledge and skills to help maximize the potential of people with autism through the lifespan. |
