2024 Mid-Year Holiday Programmes
ARC Learning Academy is organising a series of exciting autism-friendly programmes during the school holidays for all Pathlight students. This is to provide students with meaningful engagement during the break.
The programmes aim to equip your children with sports, digital/information technology, and leisure skills and improve their physical well-being. Through the programmes, your children can also interact with peers to build social skills.
Registration will start on 15 April 2024, 8.00 pm (Monday)
Please complete and submit the Online Form by 06 May 2024, 11.59 pm (Monday).
Enrichment Programmes are conducted at Pathlight School Campus 1.
IT Programmes are conducted at Pathlight School Campus 2.
All programmes are available for Non-Pathlight Students (7 to 18 years old). Please register here.

Enrichment Programmes

Have Fun Learning New Sports/ Leisure Skills. Also, To Encourage Physical Exercise And Improve Motor Skills.

Edu-Tour: Nature/Farm Explorer 1
Explore the great outdoor environment of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and a visit to Hay Dairies (Goat Farm). The tour will incorporate learning about the natural habitat of our local wetland and participants will get the opportunity to pet and feed goats.
The Edu-Tour aims to:
- Develop interest in nature hikes and local farms
- Develop healthy self-esteem through experiential learning
- Interact with the natural environment
- Develop interpersonal skills and communication with peers through fun and meaningful activities

Basic Conversational Chinese JR
This Basic conversational workshop provides a curious child with the skills they need to form simple conversations with their friends and family. When they have mastered the principles we presented, they will have a foundation for speaking to people around them.
Objective:
- Learn daily conversation skills
- Introducing the four tones of Mandarin
- Learn to form simple sentences to speak with their family and friends, sparking interest and reinforcing learning

This programme aims to:
- Unleash a child's potential through self-discovery & exploration
- Enhancing gross and fundamental motor skills through varied physical activities
- Encourages problem-solving and implementing strategic skills

Orignated from Korea, also known as "The way of the Hand and the Foot", this martial arts system emphasizes mental and ethical discipline, etiquette, respect, and self-confidence.
Students will go through 5 sessions of Taekwon-Do warm-ups, stretches and self-defence techniques of basic blocks, punches and kicks.
Come join us and learn the art of TAEKWON-DO.
Students will get to test their technique on a wooden plank at the end of the course.

Inline Skating 1
One of the most suitable sports for children with ASD. Besides improving motor skills, balance & coordination, students will be taught the foundation of in-line skating.
They will learn basic skating skills like:
- How to fall
- Stride
- Balancing
- Braking
- Turning and safety
Also, a good refresher programme for those who attended past classes.
2 pm - 3.30 pm

Recyclamation
Join us for a creative and sustainable workshop on stop-motion animation with recycled materials! Learn how to plan your animation, set up your scene, and use the app to capture each frame as you subtly move your objects. Discover the basics of stop-motion and storyboarding, and bring your ideas to life using everyday items. Let's explore creativity and sustainability together!

GREEN xPLorers: Recycling Food Waste
Have you ever wondered where all the leftover food goes? Join us for an engaging and educational holiday program, where participants will embark on a journey to explore and learn about Singapore's food waste management, and how food is reintegrated back into nature. Through interactive visits and hands-on experiences, participants will gain valuable insights into the importance of promoting sustainable and socially responsible approaches to food waste management.

LEGO Builders: Underwater Adventure
Dive into creativity with our LEGO Builders: Underwater Adventure! Designed for ages 7-10, kids explore the ocean's wonders through building colourful fish, coral reefs, and shipwrecks. Through storytelling and teamwork, they'll learn about marine life and conservation. Join us for a journey beneath the waves!

GREEN xPLorers: Water Sustainability
Join us for an exciting and enriching holiday program focused on sustainability visits, where participants will embark on a journey to explore and learn about various sustainability initiatives in our community. Through interactive visits and hands-on experiences, participants will gain valuable insights into environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

LEGO Builders: Blast Off!
Ignite your child's imagination with LEGO Builders: Blast Off! Geared for ages 7-10, this course launches young space explorers into galactic adventures. Using LEGO DUPLO bricks, they'll build spacecraft, encounter aliens, and learn about the cosmos. Join us for an out-of-this-world journey!

LEGO Arcade: Wacky Whackdown
Build a game using LEGO WeDo 2.0 and Scratch! Students explore programming basics, creating mechanical game elements with LEGO bricks and coding logic in Scratch. Focused on collaboration and problem-solving, this course nurtures technical skills and creativity. By attending, students will be exposed to sensors, programming and game design principles. Join us for LEGO Arcade, where imagination meets innovation!

LEGO Builders: Around the World
Explore the globe with LEGO Builders: Around the World! Designed for ages 7-10, this course takes kids on a journey to iconic landmarks and diverse cultures using LEGO DUPLO bricks. From the Eiffel Tower to the African savanna, children will build, learn, and explore the world's wonders. Join us for an adventure like no other!

LEGO Arcade: Daredevil Drives
Rev up your creativity in our immersive workshop where students cruise through the dynamic worlds of LEGO WeDo and Scratch, mastering the fusion of physical building and coding. Throughout the program, participants will explore programming fundamentals, steering towards the thrilling creation of their very own game using Scratch. Buckle up, dive into creativity, and embark on a coding adventure that promises both fun and learning!
